Columbia city council to consider Broadway crosswalk project

A crosswalk project across one of Columbia’s busiest streets is on the city council’s agenda Tuesday.

The council is expected to vote on a proposed walkway that would connect corners at the intersection of Broadway and Fourth streets. The crosswalk would include new ramps, landings and a raised center pedestrian island.

The project would start as early as this fall, and cost $278,000.
