Columbia double homicide suspect to appear in court Monday, ahead of December jury trial

A pre-trial conference is set for Monday morning at the Boone County Courthouse for a Columbia suspect charged with two counts of second degree murder.

Boone County prosecutors have also charged 53-year-old Randall Russell Fox with three other felonies.

He is charged with shooting and killing 77-year-old Marcia Hess and 50-year-old Sara Fox in May 2024, wrapping their bodies in a tarp and then hiding the bodies in a closet on Ridgemont drive.

The victims were shot at least once. Marcia Hess was Sara Fox’s mother.
