Columbia man admits to federal gun charge

The feds may help put away a Columbia man who has been giving local cops trouble.

James Sanders pleaded guilty Thursday to two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Sanders, 31, was spotted riding a stolen scooter in Columbia in July 2018. He tried to run from police but was caught. In September 2018, he tried to drive away from the law at high speeds in Jefferson City, but crashed a car into a tree. Sanders had an illegal gun on him both times.

He is facing up to ten years in prison.
