A jury finds a Columbia man guilty in the death of his six-month-old daughter.
That verdict came in Thursday evening for Cortavia Smith, on a count of abuse of a child resulting in death.
Court documents say Smith told police he accidentally kicked his baby girl at a home on Switzler Street in 2018. She went into cardiac arrest and died.
Smith was sentenced on Friday to 15 years in prison.
