Columbia’s mayor asks the city manager to work on an ordinance to require masks in all public settings.
Brian Treece says on social media the move would help slow the spread of COVID-19, protect public health, and keep the city economy open.
Today I asked the City Manager to have an ordinance drafted to require masks in all public settings. With rising cases of coronavirus, this is a responsible & simple public health initiative to curb the spread of COVID-19, protect public health and keep our economy open.

The next city council meeting is on July 6. Ordinances typically require council approval.
