Court documents: Lake Ozark suspect is an extreme danger to the public

Miller County authorities say a Lake Ozark man charged with biting the ear off a man on Sunday “is an extreme danger to the public, his children and wife.” That’s a direct quote from the probable cause statement filed against 39-year-old Ryan Pierce, who has not been captured.

The court documents filed by Miller County authorities say Pierce’s family and neighbors could be killed if he’s not captured.

Sunday’s incident happened when Pierce forced his way into his wife’s home, even though there’s an emergency ex parte against him. Pierce allegedly bit a man’s ear completely off, then gouged his eyes causing his left eye to be completely swollen shut. It’s unclear if the injured man is a relative, friend or neighbor, and he’s been transported to a Columbia hospital for treatment.

The probable cause statement says the victim will have serious disfiguration to his ear for life. Anyone with information on Pierce’s whereabouts should contact Miller County authorities immediately.
