COVID-19 Update (Aug. 10)

Boone County saw a drop in active coronavirus cases Monday.

There were 21 new cases reported, with another 45 patients released from isolation. That decreased the active case count to 216. The positivity rate on coronavirus tests went up again last week to 9.7%. Hospitalizations dropped a little since Friday, and are well below capacity at 24.

Boone County’s new health order starts on Monday. The biggest changes come at bars and restaurants. You will have to stay seated unless you are entering, leaving, or going to the bathroom. You also won’t be able to have more than ten people in your group. Get more info here.

Cole County reported 24 new cases on Monday, with 52 more recoveries. Callaway County has confirmed 22 new cases since Thursday.

The state reported 1,027 new cases on Monday. A total of 1,307 people have died from COVID-19 in Missouri, but no new deaths were reported Monday. The positivity rate on coronavirus tests is at 10.8%.
