A Columbia elementary school is switching to online-only learning for a while.
Columbia Public Schools said Monday Ridgeway Elementary will have students learn virtually through at least Wednesday, Nov. 11. Officials say a staffing shortage related to illness is the reason for the change. Multiple people in the building have COVID-19.
Students at Ridgeway could return to in-person learning next Thursday, Nov. 12.
The district’s online COVID-19 case tracker says 19 out of the 21 elementary schools in the district have students quarantined because of COVID-19 concerns. It also says 13 of those schools have staffers quarantined for the same reason.
