D-Day veteran honored during Fulton ceremony

The D-Day 75th anniversary ceremony in Fulton on Thursday had a special guest: a Missourian who was part of the first wave of the Normandy invasion.

St. Peters native Jim Feltz says he’s no hero.

“We’re celebrating the people that didn’t come home. That’s what we’re all celebrating. Not me or anyone, the others. We just happened to be there…that’s all,” Feltz says.

Feltz was part of the crew of the USS Plunkett, filming the first wave of the Allied invasion.
