Driver of white van in Moberly reportedly tries to lure child into vehicle

Moberly police are on the lookout for a white box van after a juvenile reported to their parents that a man driving it tried to lure him into the vehicle.

Authorities said it happened Wednesday morning just before 9:00. The child said they were walking near the intersection of Bertley and Jefferson streets.

There was apparently a white man driving and a white woman in the back of the van. The man apparently motioned for the child to get into the van.

They refused, ran home, and reported the incident to their parents.

Law enforcement agencies in Randolph County are continuing to look for the van. Anyone with information should call the Moberly Police Department at 660-263-0346.
