State officials will join MU Health Care leaders for Friday afternoon’s groundbreaking for the $232 million new Children’s Hospital and tower project.

The ceremony will begin at 3 at Hitt and Lake Streets, on MU Health Care’s main hospital campus.
MU Health Care says the new hospital will help the health system integrate to create one centralized location for all hospital services. The facility’s aim is to help the system create one convenient, centralized location for all hospital services.
The new Children’s Hospital will have a dedicated, child-friendly entrance designed to make check-ins easy. It will also feature a nature-inspired interior with natural lighting, to promote healing. There will also be special outdoor areas for children to play, along with flower gardens and additional places to relax.
The current Children’s Hospital is located on Keene, and is near I-70. MU’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital is Missouri’s only hospital facility that’s dedicated completely to children.
