Gov. Mike Parson announced another round of spending restrictions Monday as coronavirus concerns continue to tighten the state budget.
Another $209 million will be withheld from the budget. The majority of the cuts are coming to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
That’s now more than $400 million in restricted spending since the pandemic hit the state. The full breakdown of spending restrictions can be read here.
Parson also addressed statewide protests relating to George Floyd’s death, saying he supports peaceful protests but condemns violent acts.
