Columbia’s State Farm Parkway could soon have a name change to Veterans United Parkway.
Zimmer Communications’ “Inside Columbia” magazine reports Veterans United (VU) is currently in the process of applying to change the names of State Farm Parkway and East Southhampton from the roundabout to South Providence.
State Farm Insurance, which previously housed 350 employees at the location, subleased the entire campus to VU in December 2020.
The UM Board of Curators has written a letter supporting VU’s effort. The university owns the medical park across from VU.
