Jefferson City’s council to vote on pay raise issue on Monday

Jefferson City’s mayor is calling on the city council to approve a proposed five percent pay increase for city employees, saying it’s crucial to hiring and retention.

The council is scheduled to vote on the proposal at a special meeting at 5:30 this (Monday) evening. It will impact about 300 city employees, when inflation is up about eight percent.
