Lower coronavirus trend continues in local counties, state records third-highest daily case count

Most local counties continued reporting increases in coronavirus cases, but those increases were not by the record increments seen in the last week.

Boone County reported 23 more cases Friday. Cole County added eight more positives. Callaway County reported five over a two-day span.

Audrain and Moniteau counties both added one case Friday.

Missouri confirmed 868 new cases Friday, the third-highest daily number on record. The state added eight more COVID-19 deaths, for a total of 1,121.
