Mid-Missouri senator on another possible special legislative session

Will you see your Missouri legislators called back for a second special session?

Gov. Mike Parson floated the idea of a special session on redistricting earlier this year. But Mid-Missouri Senator Mike Bernskoetter isn’t sure there’s enough time between now and the veto session to get it done.

“We won’t get the real [census] data until the end of September, [and] that will make it a crunch to try to get those lines drawn when people file for [political] office,” said Bernskoetter.

Lawmakers did return to the Capitol in June and passed a renewal of the FRA tax, which provides federal funding for Medicaid in Missouri.
