Mid-Missouri state veterans cemetery is decorated with wreaths

You have an opportunity to participate Saturday morning in “Wreaths Across America.”

The event honors America’s veterans and takes place at each of the five Missouri Veteran cemeteries at 11 am. One mid-Missouri ceremony is planned for Saturday at the Jacksonville veterans cemetery, which is near Highway 63 north of Moberly.

Volunteers have been placing wreaths on headstones and in front of columbarium walls.

The Missouri Veterans Commission notes the Jacksonville event is open to the public, with no reservations required.
