Missouri Bicentennial Inaugural ball and fireworks display is Saturday evening in Jefferson City

More than 2,000 Missourians have already RSVP’d for Saturday evening’s Bicentennial inaugural ball in Jefferson City, which is black-tie optional.

It will take place on the Missouri Capitol’s north lawn, which is the riverside.

Governor Parson’s spokeswoman, Kelli Jones, tells 939 the Eagle that at least 2,200 people have RSVD’d for the ball.

The grand march starts tomorrow evening at 6:30. Governor and First Lady Parson, statewide elected officials, Missouri House and Senate members in both parties and the Missouri Supreme Court will all be introduced to the audience.

The event will conclude with a fireworks show at 9:30 tomorrow night, and the fireworks show will overlook the Missouri River.
