Missouri’s AG tells school board and health officials to stop enforcing mask mandates, citing court ruling

Missouri’s attorney general says mask mandates and quarantine orders are “null and void,” under a November decision from Cole County Circuit Judge Daniel P. Green.

Attorney General Eric Schmitt (R) has written a letter to local public health agencies and to school districts, demanding that they rescind and cease enforcement of any of these orders.

In response, Columbia Public Schools (CPS) has sent a message to parents, saying they’re reviewing Schmitt’s letter and the judge’s ruling to determine its effect on any of the district’s COVID mitigation measures.

CPS says it will continue with its current health protocols, including the mask requirement. CPS students and staff are required to wear masks indoors, and have been since August.
