Missouri’s governor will deliver opening remarks Tuesday in Ashland, at a workforce summit aimed at meeting the area’s growing need for technically skilled workers.
A project aimed at building a center to train high school students and adults has received a $4-million federal grant. The Ashland-area community is now working to raise an additional $3-million.
The center’s curriculum would focus on construction trades, medical technology and information technology.
Governor Mike Parson will be speaking later this morning at the summit, which is taking place at the Southern Boone Area YMCA. Today’s summit is being hosted by MU Extension.
