The busy I-70/Midway interchange is a key component of the $441-million plan to improve I-70 between mid-Missouri’s Rocheport and Columbia.

You’ll learn details about the plan during March open houses. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) says open houses are planned for next Monday March 2 from 4-7 pm at Boone Electric on Rangeline in Columbia and on Wednesday March 4 from 5-7 pm at Midway Golf and Games.

MoDOT says a dogbone interchange is planned at I-70 and Midway, along with new truck parking facilities. You’ll also see a relocated eastbound I-70 on-ramp.

Columbia-based Emery Sapp and Sons (ESS) has been selected as the design-build contractor for the project. MoDOT expects construction to start this spring or summer with completion of this phase in late 2029. MoDOT says the $441-million project will rebuild I-70 between Rocheport and Columbia and will add a third lane in both directions.
