The National Weather Service is apologizing after a tornado warning system test went too far.
Officials had planned to fire up the sirens and trigger test alerts on the radio Tuesday morning as part of severe weather awareness week. But a software error led to people getting a tornado warning on their phones too.
Again, we sincerely apologize for the sudden confusion that occurred this morning.
