Parson: Galloway wrong about dysfunction claims over tax returns

Governor Parson says his administration is aware some Missourians still have not gotten their 2018 tax returns. But he says on Wake Up Columbia the small minority that hasn’t gotten the money back filed for extensions, or have issues with their taxes.

“There’s nobody trying to hold up tax returns here in the state of Missouri. For us, it makes no sense to do that. We want to get it out so we clear up the books and go to the next side.”

State auditor Nicole Galloway told Wake Up Columbia this week she’s received thousands of complaints about the late tax returns. She blames dysfunction in the Parson administration and the revenue department.

Parson says Galloway is just trying to score a political point, ahead of their likely campaign against each other for governor this year.

“She’s been pounding that drum for a long time, and I just think she’s off-beat.”
