Piercy’s peace officer license revoked a second time

A former Highway Patrol trooper will not be able to return to patrol.

Anthony Piercy’s peace officer license has been revoked a second time.

Last month, a Cole County judge ruled that the Department of Public Safety didn’t provide findings of fact and conclusions of law when it revoked Piercy’s license last year.

He had already been sentenced to 10 days in county jail for misdemeanor negligent operation of a vessel after the death of 20 year old Brandon Ellingson at the Lake of the Ozarks in 2014.

He’d been arresting Ellingson for BWI when the boy fell out of the boat and drowned due to his improperly secured life vest slipping off.

A department spokesperson confirmed Piercy’s license was revoked a second time, effective May 31.
