Two arrested after deputies find them asleep in car with meth

Two people have been arrested after Moniteau County deputies found meth in their car Wednesday on Highway P near Jamestown.

A caller told authorities that there was a strange vehicle parked in their driveway with a man and a woman inside, who appeared to be sleeping. The caller stated that the man appeared to be naked.

When deputies arrived, they found Elizabeth Knox, 55, and Jeffrey Stoney, 37, still asleep. After law enforcement woke them up, Stoney put his clothes back on. The two said they didn’t know how they got there.

Officers found a few methamphetamine pipes inside the vehicle. Both people were taken into custody. Knox apparently confessed that she had more meth on her than was initially seized.

Both are being held in the Moniteau County Jail without bond.
