Plan to house boats in a storage facility draws some opposition in Columbia

Thursday night is your opportunity to testify about a proposal to place a self-service storage facility at Grace Lane and Richland road in Columbia.

The Planning and Zoning commission will hold a 7 pm public hearing on TS Storage’s plan. The applicant wants to develop the site with a self-service storage facility that would cater to larger vehicles like boats and recreational vehicles.

City staff is recommending that P&Z deny the request, noting that storage facilities are not a permitted use for this planned development.

The plan is formally called the TS Storage PD plan.
