Sales tax holiday ends in Missouri

This past weekend was your chance to purchase several back-to-school items tax-free.

The state department of revenue waived all sales taxes in most Missouri communities on purchases of clothing, school supplies, computers, and other school-related items.

Columbia and Jefferson City were among the cities that opted out of the tax holiday, so they still charged city sales taxes last weekend. This year is the last year that cities or counties can opt out of the tax holiday.
