Tributes for the late Columbia musician, businessman and Missouri Tiger fan Norm Ruebling are pouring in on 939 the Eagle’s Facebook page.

Mr. Ruebling died last week, after battling prostate cancer.
Columbia resident Scott Charton notes Mr. Ruebling co-founded the Phat Guys open golf tournament with former Boone County commissioners Don Stamper and Fred Parry and Larry Schuster. Scott notes last year was their 18th straight, with just one rainout. Mr. Charton notes that golf tournament raised more than $200,000 for charities, including Pascales Pals at MU’s Children’s Hospital.

Scott describes Mr. Ruebling as the backbone of the event. Plans for a celebration of life event for Mr. Ruebling are still being worked on.
