A convicted felon accused of stabbing a man near Columbia earlier this month and threatening to kill the victim’s family has been ordered to remain jailed until trial.
Boone County prosecutors have charged 32-year-old Cody David Bass with second degree assault and three other felonies for the October 14 incident. A court motion from Boone County prosecutors says Bass “has a long history of felony assault convictions.”

Bass was paroled from prison in January. The victim who was stabbed suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The Boone County Sheriff Department’s two-page probable cause statement says Bass is currently homeless and that the stabbing grazed the bone in the victim’s hand.
