Missouri transportation officials say we could see backups up to one hour Saturday and Sunday during the day on busy I-70 at Kingdom City, as crews demolish the old Highway 54 bridges over I-70.
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT) says the demolition will start Friday evening at 7 and should be done by Monday morning at 5. MoDOT says crews will be demolishing and removing the two no-longer-used bridges in the middle of the new roundabout at I-70 and Highway 54.
Improve I-70 program director Eric Kopinski tells 939 the Eagle that there’s never a good weekend to do a major impact on I-70 but notes they have tried to work through all the major traffic generators for the area with the weekend.
BOTH directions of I-70 will narrow to one lane in Kingdom City this weekend and you’ll be directed up and over the ramps at 54 and back onto I-70.
