United Community Builders invites you to Wednesday evening’s open house for their brand-new pre-school academy building on Columbia’s Towne drive. That’s in one of the city’s poorest areas.
The open house is from 5-7 pm at 1801 Towne drive and you’re encouraged to bring your families, explore the classrooms and meet UCB staff. There will also be guided tours.
Senior Bishop Damian Dean of United Community Builders notes UCB is also building a Beacon of Light community center in the Whitegate neighborhood. The community center will be open Monday-Saturday and will include a gymnasium and a community room.
Bishop Dean says UCB wants to get children off the streets, reclaim families and stop violence before it starts.
