Crews start work replacing a Boone County bridge north of Columbia on Monday.
Contractors will remove trees near the Highway 124 bridge over Grindstone Creek just west of Highway 63.
Traffic will be able to use the current bridge most of the time while the new bridge is built just south of it. MoDot says Hwy 124 will be closed for a little bit this summer to complete the final grading and paving work.
