While a number of 939 the Eagle listeners say it’s been difficult to find at-home COVID rapid tests, hundreds of boxes have arrived at a Columbia pharmacy.
The shipments come as there have been more than 11,000 confirmed COVID cases in Boone County this month. NextRX Pharmacy part-owner and pharmacist-in-charge Erica Crane says you don’t have to come inside the store.
“They come in two tests per box. You can come through our drive-through and/or in our store anytime. We do not have a limit on how many you can buy, at the moment,” Crane says.
NextRX is located on Falling Leaf Lane in Columbia, near Highway 63 and Grindstone. Each box comes with a swab that you use for both sides of your nose.
Ms. Crane tells 939 the Eagle that it’s important to test because the Omicron variant often has cold-like symptoms.
“It’s really important for people to kind of recognize when they start feeling a scratchy throat or sneezing, runny nose … that they have a test available so they can test quickly,” says Crane.
NextRX is open weekdays from 9-6 and on Saturdays as well.
