Fire damages key state office building in Jefferson City; East Elm remains closed

A section of East Elm in Jefferson City remains closed Tuesday morning, following last night’s blaze at a state office building that houses the state’s Information Technology Services Division (ITSD).

Our news partner ABC-17 reports there are no injuries, and that 80 ITSD app developers work in that building. DSS also has some employees there.

State officials tell KMIZ that the fire destroyed a lot of “very expensive” computer equipment, as well as work stations and monitors.
