NWS says it’s not clear yet whether the meteor actually reached the Earth’s surface. Usually meteors are incinerated by the atmosphere.
I thought it kind of strange that someone would be out shooting fireworks this time of night. Out here in the country, we shoot off the big bomb stuff with the power and kick. Normally we save some for New Years ,but you just never really know when someone gets the notion to set some off. So when the light flashed through my window, I immediately looked to see a fireball with tail that disappeared just as fast as it came , thats the first thought I had. (fireworks).
At around 950 pm central time my daughter Anna my sons Razz n Rob we’re outside as this bright meteor flew by and then disintegrated just above. We live in Waynesville Mo
It was so exciting to see it.
