Missouri confirms sixth-straight day of 1,000+ new coronavirus cases

Missouri reports more than 1,000 new coronavirus cases for the sixth straight day.

There were 1,123 more positive cases reported Monday. That is down from the record-setting case numbers late last week. Health director Randall Williams said on Monday his department should catch up to this month’s data entry backlog by Friday.

The state also added four more COVID-19 deaths, for total of 1,201.

Boone County reported 11 new cases Monday, which is below average compared to the last week. Cole County added 19 new positives since the weekend, with two of those cases added on Monday. Recent hotspot Cooper County confirmed three more cases. Audrain and Moniteau counties both added five.
