Missouri reports record increase in coronavirus cases for fourth consecutive day

Missouri breaks its coronavirus case record for the fourth day in a row.

Another 1,652 cases were confirmed Friday, which is 15 higher than Thursday’s record. Officials say it’s not just a data entry backlog or more testing, but also that the percentage of people testing positive is rising. The state also reported one fewer death than the previous day. Currently, officials say 1,178 Missourians have died from COVID-19.

Boone County confirmed 25 new cases for the second straight day. Cole County reported three new cases. Callaway County reported one new positive. Moniteau County added four new cases.

  1. Do the positive C-19 test that are reported daily, include only new cases or, do they also include those which are re-test?
One which has been diagnosed as positive, is re-tested until they test negative. Are the positive re-test counted as new among the daily totals.

  2. I’m not sure Philip. We can check with the health department. -BT
