Nightly lane closures are planned for this week on the I-70 Rocheport bridge, west of Columbia.
Contractors for the state Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will close one lane of westbound I-70 every night this week from 7 pm until 7 am, to install concrete barriers in the median. It’s being done to improve safety for motorists and for workers.
MoDOT broke ground on the $240-million bridge project in October. The current I-70 Rocheport bridge, which was built in 1960, is in poor condition. It carries more than 12-million vehicles annually.
