MU plans for in-person fall classes, sets dates for virtual graduation celebration

University of Missouri officials are planning to return to in-person operations this fall.

UM System President and Interim Mizzou Chanceller Mun Choi said Wednesday the plan is contingent upon further local decline of the coronavirus pandemic.

Choi said staff will return to campus in phases, and classes may look different to follow social distancing guidelines.

MU also announced Wednesday they will hold a 24-hour virtual graduation celebration from 2 p.m. on May 15 to 2 p.m. on May 16. The school said a in-person ceremony for the Class of 2020 will happen at a later date.
