Neighbors truly helping neighbors. Amy Berendzen was working on the tornado clean up with a group of Jefferson City Jay footballers.
They came on a couple in a damaged home who really needed help.
“[The woman] is blind and could not get her seeing-eye dog out to the front yard because of the glass. So people with long pants on were on all fours picking up that glass so she could take her puppy outside.”
High school and college athletes from all across Mid-Missouri helped out all over Jefferson City.
Several groups helped clean up tornado damage at the Special Olympics Training Site and on Capitol Avenue.
