Private funding secured for Adrian’s Island park, bridge

It looks like Jefferson City’s next park will be on Adrian’s Island.

The Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce announced Thursday there’s enough private funding to start constructing the Bicentennial Bridge that will connect the island. The goal is to have it done by 2021, the 200-year anniversary of Missouri becoming a state.

Adrian’s Island is 30 acres of land just north of the state Capitol building.
