Surveillance video could provide clues in Columbia home invasion

Columbia Police are investigating a Wednesday night home invasion where shots were fired.

The incident happened in the 4000 block of Hyde Park avenue, which is south of Grindstone near Bonkers.

Police say a resident was about to enter his apartment when several suspects approached him, forcing him inside and hitting him with a gun. His injuries are non-life threatening.

A neighbor’s surveillance video captured footage of the three suspects running away. The neighbor tells ABC-17 News that she heard two shots and that the three suspects ran to a white vehicle that was waiting for them.

Columbia Police detectives have found evidence that shots were fired. Anyone with information about the home invasion should call Columbia CrimeStoppers at (573) 875-TIPS.
