United Way agencies eye part of CARES Act funding

Lots of United Way of Central Missouri helpers may be sitting at home since agencies have limited access during the pandemic.

“Unfortunately right now many of them have had to discontinue their opportunities for volunteerism because some are allowing no one in, such as the senior centers,” says the United Way’s Ann Bax.

Ann Bax says not-for-profits, including United Way agencies, could get some of the $9 million in CARES Act funding Cole County received. Each agency would be limited to $25,000.
