Columbia’s school board has been reviewing the recent letter from Missouri’s attorney general about mask requirements and a Cole County judge’s November ruling.

The Board will vote Monday evening on whether or not to extend the district’s indoor mask requirement. CPS students and staff have been required to wear masks indoors since August.

Attorney General Eric Schmitt has demanded that CPS and other districts rescind their mask mandates, saying they are null and void under Judge Daniel Green’s November ruling.

CPS spokeswoman Michelle Baumstark tells 939 the Eagle that the board is reviewing Schmitt’s letter and Judge Green’s ruling.

The board meets at 6:30 at district headquarters on Worley.
